16oz Guava Paste (Goya brand)
1 20 oz can Crushed pineapple (don't drain)
1 box White cake mix (dry, not with pudding in mix)
1/4 C Butter, melted and drizzled over dry cake mix
1-1/2 C crushed Macadamia nuts
1 C flaked Coconut
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Layer ingredients evenly, in order, in an ungreased 13x9" baking pan. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes to an hour. Coconut flakes should be toasted but not burnt. Serve warm and enjoy with vanilla ice cream or a hot cup of Kona coffee!
Additional Comments
Slice Guava Paste in 1/2 inch thick pieces and lay flat in baking pan. Goya brand Pasta de Guayaba can be found in the Latino section of your grocery store. Crushed pineapples in heavy syrup is preferred but you can use pineapples in pineapple juice. Store leftover in refrigerator. Individual servings can be re-heated in the oven or microwave.
