1 lb. ground pork
2 eggs, beaten
3 stalks g. onions, minced
1/4 bunch cilantro (Chinese parsley), minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can water chestnuts, drained & minced
3 Tbsp oyster sauce (preferred: Lee Kum Kee brand ... ono!)
1 pkg. won ton wraps
oil to coat wraps (prevents sticking)
Cooking Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Add 1-2 Tbsp of meat mixture into won ton wraps. Bring sides up to surround meat mixture. Coat wraps lightly with oil to prevent sticking. Place won tons in steamer & steam for 20-30 minutes. *Options: You can also use the following ingredients instead of oyster sauce. 1 Tbsp dried "cooking" opae (shrimp) minced. (or) 1/4 lb. fresh shrimp, minced (or) 1 Tbsp Lee Kum Kee garlic black bean sauce. You can also use this pork mixture in the deep fried tofu "aburage" (not the wet kine, now). Scoop out the insides, stuff with pork mixture, and steam. You can also deep fry the wontons for crispy kine. Ono when served with prepared Coleman hot mustard. Try this with sliced lupchong in the ingredients & a 1/2 boiled, salted duck egg inserted in pork mixture before steaming. Also ono when eaten with rice & hot mustard!! HOOO, broke da mouth!!
