Classic Hapa Haole Music Lives! Join us for a throw back to this early modern era of hula & music. In keeping with the hapa-haole tradition, all songs within each category must be sung in English and the theme of the performance must be about Hawai`i. The era of music must be from the 1900 to 1959 period when classic Hapa Haole music was at it's prime. Prizes and recognition will be awarded to the winners. Winning soloists and groups will be showcased at the following day’s Ho`ike and Hawaiian Festival.

Solo competition categories are: Ms. Hapa Haole (age 14 to 25) Ms. Sophisticated Hula (age 26 and above) Comic Hula (age 18 and above) Group Categories are: Kupuna Group (age 55 and above) Wahine Group (age 14 and above) Kane Group (age 14 and above) Combined Group (age 14 and above) Keiki Group (age 13 and under)

Registration is $25 by July 1, 2012 and $50 through July 10, 2012. The 3 Days of Aloha in the Pacific Northwest is sponsored by Ke Kukui Foundation, a Vancouver, Wash. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the perpetuation, preservation and community education of Hawaiian arts and culture.
