• Happy Birthday to Brittany Noelani, NPIEN Mentor, Mayor Elizabeth Kautz, Burnsville, Minnesota and one of the only NHPI city mayors, Myra Hernandez McGinnis, former NPIEN Executive Assistant, Ann Brache, member of the Aloha Ukulele Ensemble, Terri Harrington, daughter of NPIEN Staff Member John Harrington, Tauvaga Ho Ching, NPIEN Mentor and California State Senator Lena Gonzalez. 
Mayor Jeff Wood, City of Lakewood, recognizing our participation in the 2021 Project Shepherd Holiday Food Bank. 
• Congratulation to Lauren Bowman, NPIEN Staff Member, who earned her Doctoral degree from North Central University. 
• The Kingdom of Tonga still needs our support.  Visit our Facebook Page for a Go Fund Me link   by Tongan Olympian Pita Taufatofua.  Almost $800,000 has been raised.
•  A letter to the White House, signed by 180 organizations including NPIEN, requested support for the people of the Kingdom of Tonga in hopes of easing the fears of many Tongan Americans.  Loriann Leota and Dr. Thompson attended the White House Briefing last week.
• Six Pacific Islander School Board Trustees appeared on the Pacific Islander Education Summit Program:   Natu Tuatagaloa, Board Member, San Rafael City Schools, just retired after 20 years of service!, Manufou Liaga-Anoa’I, Board Member, Jefferson Elementary School District (Daly City), Faauuga Moliga, Board Vice President, San Francisco Unified School District, Ana Petero, Board Member, Fairfield-Suisin Unified School District, Teresa Faapua, Board Member, Bayshore Elementary School District (Daly City), Mele Latu, Board President, Ravenswood City School District (East Palo Alto)
• The Southern California COVID-19 Response Team Phone Banking Project ended, with over 300 contacts made by NPIEN Interns and Staff to ensure that our community received information and services about vaccines, testing, medical care, food, shelter, and mental health services.
• NPIEN Members wrote 21 letters to residents of the Brittany House in Long Beach, California for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
