  • Maui Strong:  Visit for ways to support 
  • Happy Birthday to Samoa Koria, Retired Teacher and NPIEN Supporter, Sharma Uma, NPIEN Staff Member, Emerald Leiataua, NPIEN Mentor, Teena Logo Gonzalez, NPIEN Supporter, Angelica Long, Safe Schools Conference, Joey Quenga, Radio Personality, Disney Imagineer, and NPIEN Supporter, Seiuli To Meni-Trood, Past NPIEN Board Member and Del Amo Elementary School Teacher, Dr. Tai Faaleava,  NPIEN member, Robert Uhrle, Solutions Consultant and Sushini Chand, past NPIEN Board member. ·      
  • Miniature Golf Tournament, Thanks for your support!  Virtual Teams that played: Hawaii Kaua’i, Anaheim, CA, Northern California, Atlantic/New Jersey, Lakewood, CA = 14 mini golfers.  49 Mini Golfers at Golf N Stuff, over half were children and youth!  We raffled 7 boxes of pizza along with 50 raffle prizes, including 4 tickets to Knott’s and many games and toys for the children.   Thank you to our volunteers Cliff, Denelle Zimmerman, Albert, and Dr. Tino. This was an exciting time for our youth and children and even adults.     ·      
  • Lesona Ukulele Class was held on August 15th!  We had four in-class and eight in the audience.   We learned the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Coconut, plus performed Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride.  The next Lesona Ukulele Class will take place on September 19th at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ at 6:00 p.m. 5316 Clark Ave., Lakewood, CA 90712.  ·      
  • Ohana Night:  Our next Ohana Night is on Thursday September 7th at 7:00 p.m. at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ, 5316 Clark Ave., Lakewood, CA.    At Ohana Night on August 3rd, we had 13 in attendance and thank Albert Wilmovksy, NPIEN Event Staff Member, and Amy Sloan of Amy’s Trophies, our Major Sponsor, for attending.  ·      
  • Welcome to All new members and renewing members who are also eligible for a scholarship from Grand Canyon University!  Hudson Weobel, Orange County Chapter and Penelope Tulifau, LA Chapter! ·      
  •  NPIEN had a table at the Pacific Islander Summer Bash on August 12th at Houghton Park in Long Beach, CA.  Thank you Kalani for helping at our table along with your friend Mona.  We also had two volunteers from our partner Behavioral Health Services/Tobacco Cessation Committee, Alix Politanoff and Emily Parra.  Congratulations to the Le Upega organization, NPIEN Staff Member Malele Faleono, her son Alofaifo and husband Terry for organizing this event and to Caruso Ford/Lincoln/Mazda that donated 100 backpacks with supplies to the students who came.
