This benefit event for the Sandwich Islands Social Network features Music, Magic and Comedy all in one great afternoon in Fullerton, California - Saturday, April 8th.
Singer/ Songwriter Kimo Williams brings hula dancer Barbara Dempsey along for some nahe nahe style Hawaiian music.
Hawaii’s Mark Kiyabu makes some magic with aloha happen before your eyes. Comic/story teller Kamaka Brown brings musician buddies TDan Hofstedt and Robert Agno along for some fun, music and laughter island style .
Did we mention Old school boiled peanuts, Spam musubi, manapua and more available?
Oh yeah- special swag bags for the first 100 guests and gift baskets and ukulele raffles as well!

- Happy Birthday to Pastor Sweetie Williams, NPIEN Keynote, Wally Rank, NPIEN Honorary Board, the late Kawen Young, Community Supporter, Lourdes Talamantes, Counselor, Paramount High School, Ursula Ann Siataga, NPIEN Service Award Winner, ‘Alisi Tulua, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, Lorraine Telles, Honorary NPIEN Board Member, Reggie Berry, NPIEN Golfer, Justin Utupo, Lakewood High School Head Football Coach, Mike Leomiti, NPIEN Supporter in the American Samoa Chapter.
- Ohana Night: On March 2nd we had 1 guest and 12 in the audience and met the new owner Gil. The first Lesona Ukulele Class also took place at Ohana Hawaiian BBQ on March 21st a rainy night, but we had a student!
- NPIEN Members attended the South Coast Interfaith Council’s Awards Dinner on where Dr. Thompson received the Man of the Year Award for service to the community and establishing NPIEN.
- NPIEN Members participated in the Long Beach City College PISA Mixer and we saw LooLoo Tupua, PISA Advisor and NPIEN Past Board Member, and Amelia Tupua, NPIEN Past Staff Member. We awarded a $150 grant to the PISA.
- We remember ‘Atonio (Tony) Kavea, NPIEN Supporter, who passed away nine years ago in March 2014.
- Welcome to Samantha Graciano, new member of the Arizona Chapter, Kara Kahler, LA Chapter, and Tracy Feagiai, Bahrain Chapter. All new members and renewing members are eligible for a scholarship from Grand Canyon University!
- Welcome to our newest intern Nikki Apana! Niki is an M.D. candidate at UCSF.
- Team Samoa enjoyed the Lakewood Run 5K on Saturday.
- The City of Carson named its Civic Excellence Award the Sai Momoli Award. The late Sai Momoli is an NPIEN Honorary Board Member.
- We are featured in the SB 434 letter
- The Aloha Ukulele Ensemble California Credit Union concert took place on Friday March 24th at 5:00 p.m. and we celebrated Spring, Cesar Chavez Day and St. Patrick’s Day.
