Aloha! We are Hālau Nohona Hawaiʻi, which refers to all things anchored in Hawaiian; living the Hawaiian way. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit Hawaiian cultural school located in Silver Spring, MD. Our goal is to enrich and make a positive impact on our communities by sharing the spirit of aloha and the cultural practices, knowledge, and traditions of nā kūpuna through the teachings of hula, language, chant, protocols, music, and history. We have over 110 students ranging from 3 years of age to tutus with wobbly knees! We are ONE BIG ohana and love to share our Hawaiian culture with our communities! Classes are conducted every Sunday, 12:00PM - 4:00PM at the White Oak Community Recreation Center in Silver Spring, MD.
From little keiki (children) who pull out chairs for na kupuna (elders) to na `opio (teens) helping to set up and clean up ... it's truly an environment where the Hawaiian Values are practiced! So full of Aloha, for sure!
