bring us on the bus from Liliha to go and get this Filipino donut called
"binankal" not sure if spelling right ... (and may be Visaian language too). But it was like a round ball deep fried and was covered with sesame seeds. Need your help. Can't find recipe for this one anywhere. I know only one place
still get and can buy it but is at old Ewa plantation side (by the chicken
fight). But I stay in the mainland now. Do you know anybody have that recipe? Every time I go back home I try to find it. Even look for old and new cook
books with it. If anybody can find this
one I know you can you help me with this one??? If not still you the best out
there for us locals in the mainland I survive on you guys recipes on this site

When I first read your request, the dish that came
to mind was the Chinese fried donut called gien doi. So I did some searching and
did find a recipe for Filipino Binangkal.
It doesn't say that it's supposed to be deep fried, but my hunch is that it is,
because gien doi need to be deep fried. About the only difference between the
Filipino and the Chinese pastries is the binangkal uses white lour and the
gien doi uses mochiko (rice) flour.
Good luck with the recipe. Let me
know how it turns out. I've made gien doi before but obviously never binangkal!
