Ingredients
2 lbs Short ribs, cut into 2 inch pieces
1/2 Asian pear or regular pear, peeled and cored
2 clove Garlic
2 Scallions or green onions green and white part
1/4 C Shoyu
2 Tbsp Sesame oil, Asian kind (dark)
2 Tbsp Honey
2 Tbsp Sake or dry sherry
1 Tbsp Sugar
1/2 tsp Freshly ground pepper
Lettuce leaves washed and dried
Asian Pear Dipping Sauce:

1/2 C Shoyu
1/2 C Sake or dry sherry
1/4 C Sugar
1 small Pear, seeded, peeled, cored and finely chopped
4 Scallions finely chopped
1/4 C Finely chopped onion
2 Tbsp Sesame seeded toasted
Cooking Instructions
For the Asian pear sauce, just mix all ingredients until sugar is dissolved. Place ribs in non-reactive pan or baking dish. Roughly chop the Asian pear, garlic, and scallions and combine in a blender with remaining ingredients for marinade. Process to a smooth puree. Pour marinade over ribs, cover and let marinade for 3 hours in refrigerator. Preheat grill to high heat. When ready for cook, oil grill and place marinated ribs on grill 2-3 minutes per side. To eat, cut meat off bone and wrap in lettuce leaves and dip in Asian pear sauce. The bone is also the best part to knaw on.
