3 Tbs Brown sugar
3 Tbs White sugar
4 cloves Garlic, minced
1 C Shoyu (Yamasa is best)
1 C Water
Juice from 2 stalks celery (celery juice is the SECRET!)
1 large slice Ginger
1/2 C Peanut oil
3 Tbs Sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Combine sugars, shoyu, water, garlic, celery juice and ginger slice in 1-2 quart saucepan. Bring to boil and boil for 5 minutes. Remove pot from heat and cool. Whisk in oils to cooled marinade. Add 2-4 lbs. sliced beef flank or other meat, thinly sliced to marinade overnight. You can thread on bamboo sticks for da kine school carnival teriyaki sticks, or not. Grill meat over charcoal for 3-4 minutes each side. Serve with rice. You can reserve 3/4 c. marinade before adding meat, heat and add 1 tbs. cornstarch with 3 tbs. orange juice and heat til thickened for sauce over rice after meat has been cooked.
