Kami's Hawaii Kai Portagee Bean Soup

2 Cans kidney beans
1 8oz tomato sauce
2 lb stewed tomatoes
2 Chopped onions
1-2 Ham hocks
1 Tbsp salt
2 Chopped celery stalks
2 Potatoes cubed
1/4 Cup chopped parsley
1 Small cabbage chopped
2 Garlic cloves crushed
3 lb Linguisa chopped and browned
1/4 tsp anise
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground pepper
10 cups water
Cooking Instructions
Combine water, ham hocks,and salt. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 2-3 hours. Remove the hocks and remove the bones, return to the soup. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer for 1-2 hours.
Additional Comments
If you can't find Linguisa try Andulli. It is a sausage found in the south or try Chorizo.
