Teriyaki Marinade

1 C Shoyu
1 C Sugar
1 C Sake (not mirin)
5 cloves Garlic (crushed)
1 1/2 inch Ginger (grated)
Cooking Instructions
Mix all in pot; bring to boil, then gently simmer for 60 minutes. Cool. Add to meat when done cooling to marinate.
Additional Comments
I made and used for first time to shishkebab meat (tri tip slices). Used 2 1/2 times this recipe for 5 pounds meat strips. Marinated for 24 hours, then froze for camping trip. Thaw before threading on skewers with mushrooms, red onions, zucchini, bell pepper. Ono!! Neighboring campers were jealous! Add more garlic/ginger to taste (I used 8 cloves garlic/2 1/2 inches grated ginger for my final 2 1/2 times the recipe amount).
