2 lbs Pork belly (side pork)
1/4 C Red wine bean curd
1 C Water
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Chinese five spice powder
1 piece Ginger, Crushed
2 cloves Garlic
1 Tbsp Soy sauce
4-5 drops Red food coloring
Cooking Instructions
Slice belly pork into 2" x 1/2" pieces. Brown meat in pot with garlic. Drain oil. Add the rest of the ingredients and heat to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until meat is soft approximately 45 minutes to an hour (use your own judgement). Add water accordingly when sauce gets "too thick". Dish is ready to serve when meat is soft and firm (not mushy) and sauce is thick. Garnish with Chinese parsley. Bean curd can be found at any Asian food store that sells Chinese products. I buy mine in a glass jar but sometimes it can be found in small tin cans.
