3/4 C Brandy
1 1/2 inch thick Steak
2 cloves Garlic minced
1 inch piece Ginger finely minced
1 C Shoyu (Kikkoman)
1/2 C Sugar
Cooking Instructions
Pour in a small sauce pan 3/4 cup of brandy and heat over medium heat until it reduces until only 1/3 is left. Add shoyu, sugar, ginger, pinch of pepper, and garlic simmer a little longer 5 minutes. Let the mixture cool to room temperature or colder. In a zip lock bag or container bring marinade and steak together and let sit 3-4 hour minimum over night for best flavor. Grill steak to desire doneness. I find medium rare has the best flavor. The secret to this is to get out as much ginger juice from the ginger into the marinade. That's why you must finely mince it.
