San's Hawaiian Short Rib Stew

3-4 lbs Short ribs
Rock salt
1 Bay leaf
1 can Tomato sauce
2 medium Tomatos
2 stalks Celery, chopped
3 potatos, sectioned
3 cloves Garlic, chopped well
1 medium Yellow onion, sliced
Vegetable oil
Cooking Instructions
Season short ribs with PLENTY of salt and pepper. Let sit for at least 1/2 hour. Brown short ribs in large pot with 1 Tbsp oil. When browned, cover meat with water and boil. When boiling, add onion and garlic - boil for 1/2 hour. After 1/2 hour, add tomato, celery, and onion - bring to a boil. After 15 min, add potato, bay leaf and tomato sauce - bring to boil. When done, skim fat from surface. Tastes best next day!!! Sauce will be watery - but if you need it thicker, add flour to your liking. Enjoy!!!
