Contributor: Tony
Ingredients
1-2 lbs Pork butt or shoulder
3 Tbsp Hawaiian salt
3 Tbsp Liquid smoke (if using a smoker, smoke pig for at least 3 hours then return to oven)
1/4 C Aloha shoyu
1-2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Ti or banana leaves
Aluminum foil
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Mix all ingredients except pork. If using a smoker smoke pork for 3 hours first and omit the liquid smoke. If you don't have a smoker after combining all ingredients, place your pork on top of banana or ti leaves and then into a pan and pour the mixture all over the pork and rub mixture into the pork with your hands really good. For the ones smoking the pig, do this after you have smoked the pork remembering not to use the liquid smoke since you already smoked the pork. Now wrap the pork up nice and tight and tie the leaves to keep them in place. Next take aluminum foil and cover the pan being sure not to touch the pork with the aluminum foil. It should look somewhat like a dome. Place pork in the oven and bake for 5 to 6 hours without disturbing. Actual baking time will depend on the size of the pork. Enjoy!
