1 C Shoyu
1 C Sugar
6 cloves Garlic
1/2 tsp Pepper
2 dash or one small piece fresh Ginger finely diced
1 small Onion finely diced
1 tbs Sesame oil
1-2 lbs Korean ribs (Flanken ribs)
1/2 C Red wine
Cooking Instructions
The secret to this is to finely dice all the onion and ginger for the marinade. Also to reserve some of the sugar to coat the ribs on both sides then let it sit for one hour. combine the rest of the ingredients in a large bowl, onions, ginger, pepper, sesame oil, shoyu, sugar, garlic, and finally the red wine, which is a very important piece of the recipe. after the ribs sit for one hour in the sugar, place it in the marinade. now the longer it sits the better the taste will be. A minimum of one night the ribs must marinate. you can grill it over hot charcoal or fry it over high heat in a non stick pan. The juices will of the meat will thicken in the pan. Next place it on a dish sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with hot rice and mandoo. You can change the recipe for your own taste, such as more sugar or less. Even more or less red wine but it is a must have.
