4 c. guava juice
1-2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. powdered fruit pectin
4 - 4 1/2 c. sugar
Cooking Instructions
Peel your guavas kind of thick and scoop out seeds. Boil seeds and peel in 6 cups water for 5 minutes then simmer, covered, for about an hour. Strain off liquid (That is your guava juice.) Measure out 4 cups. If short, add a little water. Pour lemon and guava juice in large pot.

Sprinkle pectin on top. Let sit for 2 minutes. Then, stir to dissolve. Bring to full boil, stirring frequently. Mix in sugar. Return to full boil, stirring often. Boil hard for one minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and quickly skim off foam with metal spoon. Ladle into hot, sterilized jars. Do not fill jars to top. Leave about a 1/4 inch space from top. Place lids. Process in boiling water for 5 minutes.
Additional Comments
This recipe calls for the use of the seeds and peel. Save the meat for use in pies, cobblers, crisp, jams, preserves, etc.
