2003 was the bestest to date!", says
Kamaka Brown,
the official Aloha Gathering comedian and Emcee, also
affectionately noted as
AlohaWorld's resident
comic and roving ambassador.
Kamaka goes on to say, "Ono food, plenny new faces,
plenny familiar faces, lots of awesome door prizes, supportive
sponsors and vendors. Great music, dance and
entertainment!!! It was waaaay too much 'good stuff' for
one person to hando!!

"Kawika Gapero,
direct from engagements in Honolulu ...a studio musician in demand
for all major acts playing in the 50th state entertained during
the evening. His guitar and voice provided a soothing company
before and during dinner. His third CD 'Hula Kako' is now
available.
"Surprise guest,
Kumu Hula Obrian Eselu stole
the audience's hearts as he filled the room with his warm rich
mellow voice. He is a classic master of hula and his aloha
embraced us all. Words fail to describe this moment as well,
except maybe, 'chicken skin'!
"Lots of
laughter and lots more 'chicken skin' to go around when another
surprise guest, MELVEEN LEED
took center stage. She WOWed the crowd with stories of 'small
keed' time when she was growing up on the island of Moloka'i
and then knocked off our slippahz with her incredible voice!
It was a 'one of a kine' moment in time that can not be
described!!

complete the event. The halau intrigued everyone there who looked
on and witnessed island dance at its best. Tahitian and
Hawaiian flavors mixed together an exciting potion that marveled
the eye.

to another successful Aloha Gathering
event.
