The Hawaiians in Los Angeles Art Show featuring the work of Taimane Letuli--member of an active Polynesian family in Los Angeles and dancer in Nonosina--will be coming off the walls at Society--a Vayden Roi Gallery. The show is intended to bring a larger audience to the talents of the Hawaiians living in Los angeles. The last night will be a nice send off that will include performances by Josh Chang, who is giving us a preview of his forthcoming CD, Leilani Huggins, who is reading poetry, and Dan Pouesi, who is reading from his forthcoming novel Akua. Aunty Geri Kuhia might be there, too (that's still confusing to me). Come on down! Hear some great music and stories, see some great art, and be immersed in a vibrant and thriving culture.
