Born into a family well versed in music and deeply rooted in Hawaiian history, Owana possesses the ability to reach out in song to intimately embrace her audience. Her profound interpretation of Hawaiian classics, traditional and contemporary music and jazz standards, is truly a reflection of her ancestry and upbringing in knowledge and culture. No matter what genre of music Owana performs, she will bring the listener to an unforgettable experience. Combining his 7-string bass guitar with the imagery of Hawaii’s gentle beauty, Nathan Aweau’s smooth vocals and original compositions unite the traditional and contemporary sounds of American jazz, folk and blues. Infused with the graceful elegance of hula, his show is breathtaking. Nathan is revered by his peers and loved by his fans and has garnered nine *Na Hoku Hanohano awards (Hawai‘i’s equivalent to the GRAMMY®) over the span of his 27 year career. Nathan, a seasoned performer, was the music director and bassist for Hawaii's icon Don Ho for 15 years, as well as a member of the band Hapa from 2003-2010.
