Learn to make a beautiful lei with fresh ti leaves & kukui nuts. The Kukui nut lei was once a symbol of royalty. These leis are given to show respect or appreciation. Weaving a lei is two skills -- one inside -- thoughtfulness, attention, peace -- and one outside -- craftsmanship, dexterity. The ti-leaf lei is used to honor ali’i and others of high respect.
Ancient Hawaiian folklore believed that the deep green Ti Leaf possessed healing powers and bestowed good luck upon its recipients
