"Mai Na Kupuna Mai" is a very special event celebrating the joy of Hawaiian music both traditional and contemporary paying tribute to the kupuna of the artists.

Aja Kauhi'imakaokalani Gample
Plays Traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music done in the old style of kī hoʻalu or Hawaiian Slack Key guitar.
“Ki Ho'alu is my Passion. I love to share my culture through singing, writing, and composing Hawaiian music. My tutu, Charley Oyama, began teaching me Kī Ho'alu (Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar) when I was twelve and it has since turned into a passion. I just released my debut album "Huaʻi". I hope to one day share my culture with the world through my passion for Kī Ho'alu and Hawaiian music.”

Special guest: Charlie Oyama
Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese Ancestry. From Honolulu, Hawai'i but now settled in Glendale, California. Hawaiian slack key guitar virtuoso who also plays a mean five string banjo. Passion for the Hawaiian language. Has lots of guitars. Very proud of his mo'opuna Aja Gample.

Kalama Brothers
As talented musicians and vocalists, loving brothers and devoted sons, the Kalama Brothers produce music that both honors their Hawaiian heritage and represents their passion for contemporary musical genres. The sudden passing of their father in 2010 was the impetus for the brothers’ decision to record an album together in Hawaii, thus embarking on an exploration of their roots through their joint musical gift. Although they were raised in California, their father worked to bring the beauty of the Hawaiian culture to their mainland upbringing, and the two took hula classes as young boys.
