Bryan Tolentino will be making his first visit to San Jose in September. On Tuesday, Sept 15 he will be conducting his first of two workshops. In the first workshop Bryan will teach you how to figure out chords past the 3rd fret using a numbering system called "grip". He will also teach you to position play using the chromatic scale.

At Wednesday's (Sept 16) workshop Bryan will share his ideas and concepts for Hawaiian music using different chords and applying it to songs, vamps, intros and outros. Command of the most common chords played on the 1st three frets would be beneficial.

Both workshops will be held at the Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center, 588 N. 4th Street starting at 7:00 PM. Cost of each workshop is $35.00, or take both for $60.00. A portion of the workshop fee will be donated to Yu-Ai Kai. We will have door prizes to give away, and a raffle for a new ukulele with 100% of the proceeds donated to Yu-Ai Kai. To sign up for the workshops, stop by or call Ukulele Source, (408) 998-2640.
