If you want to enjoy music from Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winners showcasing their talents on the ʻukulele and a few surprises, join us on September 17 for the "ʻUkulele Friends" show featuring the ʻukulele stylings of Bryan Tolentino and Herb Ohta, Jr.! They will be performing songs for their new duet CD, "ʻUkulele Friends" along with Halehaku Seabury (guitar / vocals) and hula from Christina Wong. Enjoy an evening of ʻukulele, Hawaiian music, and hula!

Bryan Tolentino is an ʻukulele master and has performed with the late Aunty Genoa Keawe, Karen Keawehawai'i, Jerry Santos and Olomana, Natalie Ai Kamauu, Napua Greig, Kuana Torres Kahele, Aaron Sala, Weldon Kekauoha, Hoku Zuttermeister and many more. He also found himself in growing demand for his contributions to dozens of recordings, and he released his own solo album "Ka 'Ukulele Lele" in 2005.

Halehaku Seabury is a guitarist extraordinaire and is also 1/3 of the Hawaiian Award winning group, Nā Hoa. Nā Hoa has had a steadily increasing growing fanbase since inception and in 2012, Nā Hoa released its self-titled debut album, "Nā Hoa" to critical acclaim. Garnering four of the seven "Nā Hōkū Hanohano" awards for which it was nominated, the trio's self-titled debut album won: Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Most Promising Artist and Hawaiian Music Album of the Year in 2013.

Christina "Kamailelauli'I" Wong started dancing hula at the age of 12. Performing in Halau Na Wai Ola under the direction of Kaui Isa Kahaku, Christina's performance/competition class took first place in the auana division in the first annual George Na'ope Kane Hula competition in 2009. At present Christina now performs all over the Bay Area with Island Vibes Dance Group and occasionally goes on tour with musicians from Hawaii such as Melveen Leed, Herb Ohta, Jr., Keoki Kahumoku and the late Chino Montero.

International recording artist Herb Ohta, Jr., is considered to be one of today's most prolific 'ukulele masters. Influenced by Jazz, R&B, Latin and Brazilian music, he puts his stamp on Hawaiian music by pushing the limits of tone and technique on this beautiful instrument. The son of 'ukulele legend "Ohta-san," he started playing at the age of three, and teaching at the age of nine. He now shares the music of Hawai'i and the beauty of the 'ukulele with people around the world, performing and conducting instructional workshops. This multi Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner (Hawaiian equivalent to the Grammy) and four-time Hawai'i Music Award winner effortlessly translates the beauty and culture of Hawai'i through his creative expression of music. With ten solo albums, twelve duet albums, and contributions on more than 40 recordings, he is well on his way to matching his father's legacy. In 2015 Herb celebrates his 25th Anniversary in the music industry.
