The Mākaha Sons announce San Diego, California, as the first stop on their “Take a Walk in the Country” world tour. The concert will be held at the Birch North Park Theater on Friday, June 12, and will feature the inimitable Willie K, Grammy winners Daniel Ho & Tia Carrere, the hilarious Augie T, and enchanting hula by the Sons’ star dancer, Kealo Koko and several local hula halau.

For the past seven years, the Mākaha Sons have produced this supreme Hawaiian music extravaganza in Hawaii. Hawaii’s top entertainers have been showcased on a “Take a Walk in the Country” stage—the Brothers Cazimero, Hapa, Kapena, Ho‘okena, Nā Palapalai, the Lim Family, and Daniel Ho & Herb Ohta, Jr. are among the groups that have performed, as well as popular male vocalists Keali‘i Reichel, Fiji, and Willie K, and female favorites Melveen Leed, Aunty Genoa Keawe, Amy Hānaiali‘i, and Darlene Ahuna. The Sons have also helped young artists such as Hōkū Zuttermeister, Barry Kimokeo, Raiatea Helm, Natalie Kamauu, and Nā Kama, gain wider exposure through performances at their signature concert.

The legendary Mākaha Sons are Hawaii’s premier traditional Hawaiian music trio and have been performing together since 1976. Their lush harmonies, distinctive musical arrangements, and sparkling stage personalities have made them Hawaii’s favorite entertainers for over three decades.
