KAMAKA BROWN and O'ahu return to the Backstage at the Coffee Gallery in Altadena after a sold out show in January.
By popular demand there will be TWO shows on June 20th, a matinee at 3:30PM and an evening show at 7 PM.
Kamaka returns with all NEW stories. "So eh, if you wen enjoy lass time .. go come again ..bring da ohana, da neighbah, da boss, da peepo you work wit, da ex wife..ok maybe not..but you get da idea ...weee haaaa!"
Brown, a comic/writer/producer born and raised in Hawaii and now living in Southern California has a catalog of short stories about growing up in Hawaii written in Pidgin English. He will read his stories accompanied by talented composer/musician T.Dan Hofstedt on his slack key guitar.
Bring da keeds let them experience the language of our hanabuddah days.
This one of a kine show must be experienced to understand. It's a blend of story telling, humor, slack key, Hawaiian traditional and contemporary music all rolled up in one.
The result is a two hour "back porch" hang loose journey filled with Kamaka's original short stories in Pidgin English, slack key music and the music of O'ahu.
This is a small venue, seating only 50 people so be sure to call for your seats early. You will love this show in this intimate room.
