Drums of the Islands - Exploring the Rhythyms of Polynesia.

Bring the 'ohana and and celebrate May Day with the Foster City Arts and Culture Committee at the sixth annual festival! Witness a "blessing of the drums" ceremony followed by a traditional "Symphony of Drums" presentation which is practiced in the Cook Islands today.

Tantalizing cultural performances from award-winning professional Polynesian Dance companies include, Ehulani’s ‘Ote’a/Kaulana Na Pua O Hawaii of Hayward, Kawailehua Hula Ohana of Milpitas, Merahi o Tehani of Union City, Motu’aina of Danville, Nemenzo of Daly City, ‘Ote’a ‘Api of Fremont/Tracy and Fremont.
Don’t miss this exciting day of cultural activities, Arts and Crafts booths, canoe rides offered by Ho’okahi Pu’uwai Outrigger Canoe Club, food and more! Admission is free, however food and drinks are available for purchase.
