HAWAIIAN HULA DAYS

There's nothing like getting down home in the Midwest. Because we crave and want to be saturated with Aloha, we all pulled together to make this event be the best ever. Uli Uli making, the all day workshop, beginning ukulele classes, and advanced ukulele with Mel Amina (one of the first Makaha Sons). So much to do, so little time. Then, WOW, Saturday night we went crazy with the Hoike in the hotel's ballroom. Then.....

featuring...
KUMU LEIALOHA LIM AMINA

... who began her hula training at the age of 6 with her mother, Mary Ann Lim. As she progressed, she was mentored by many of our islands most renowned Kumu Hula, including George Na’ope and Edith Kanaka’ole. She was tutored by the late Pilahi Paki, and continued to perform over the years making several public appearances and also competing several years in the Merrie Monarch Festival. On many occasions she received top honors and eventually became a judge for the Merrie Monarch competition from 1999 to 2003.

The aforementioned is just a snippet of what our talented Kumu Hula is about. Go to WWW.HULAMIDWEST.COM  to get more information about her immeasurable talent.

HAWAIIAN HULA DAYS continues to be ever growing, perpetuating our Aloha, fulfilling our need to illuminate and to keep that conversation going on in our souls that no matter what; WE ARE HAWAIIAN.
