Kamaka Brown's "Tales From The Hanabuddah
Days"
A brand new CD release in the winter of 2010 is
now available with more original stories told in
Hawaiian Pidgin English about growing up in Hawai’i
in the ‘60’s.
This new offering is called “Tales from da
Hanabuddah Days” featuring eight new
stories not featured on the DVD. Go jump off
“Da Rock” at Waimea Bay on O’ahu’s North Shore, go
face to face with the playground bully in “Da Bool”
and share a little sadness in “Jus’ Becuz”.
It’s all in this funny, poignant collection of
original short stories by a great story teller.
A very special part of this project is the
collaboration with Joe Thompson, a classical
guitarist from Ashland, Oregon who wrote
instrumental pieces for each story. What makes this
very unique is Joe learned slack key guitar tuning
and infused his passion for classical guitar playing
into a fusion creation we call “classical slack”.
It’s absolutely beautiful.
