For event organizers, we invite you to consider submitting the concerts to the AlohaWorld.com Events Calendar site.
We recommend you submit your events as early as possible for maximum exposure. Also, if your event will have vendor booths available this is a great way to get the word out to potential vendors.
You will be able to submit and manage all of your postings. You can read the Events FAQ, to become familiar with the process. Basically, you need an account, add a venue and once that is approved, you can submit the event. Once submitted you can login and edit the listing at anytime if needed.

| Royal Hawaiian Chess Set |

|
The Royal Hawaiian Chess Set First publically previewed in Hawaii 2009, following decades of design, development and final prototype; is testimony to Hawaii’s past as a sovereign nation, the only state that had a King and Queen and the only state to have a registered royal residence. The Pieces: In respect for the Royal Family, its traditions and kapu’s, the pieces are simple symbols of their positions and not replicas of their Royal likenesses. Crafted to meet staunton standards, ready to challenge any gamely opponent, imua. As an added bonus, the Royal Hawaiian Chess Set also offers checkers. 4 additional pawns of each side, allows checkers to be played. When a pawn is ‘kinged’, it is replaced with any non-pawn piece such as a King, Queen etc., etc., etc. Attention: Our sets will only be available through our Exclusive Outlets, beginning January 1st 2011. Our website will continue to offer product updates, feature events and Outlet Directory. We will also continue to support worthwhile causes, where you could win one of our Royal sets. Our toll free 866# will be available for all your questions and inquiries. Event: The October Grand Opening of the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum, was a huge success, well attended and supported. The winner of our Royal Set of the silent auction was Rita Scanlan. No can wear slippers anymore, gotta put away the shorts and bikinis, bring out the fur-lined boots, feather-down coats and long-john underwear. If you like, carry shave ice syrup, where at any moment, simply grab freshly fallen snow and apply. I remember the blackbean or vanilla ice cream in the middle of shaved-ice. I never knew I would come to dislike the snow so much, especially after dreaming of shave-ice as a child.

From our COOKBOOK, Easy Pie Crust:
1c.flour, 1/2c. Butter Crisco, 1/4c. Water 2Tbl. Sugar.
In a medium bowl, combine flour with the Crisco. Add water and sugar, mix well. Roll the dough flat on a floured surface with a rolling pin to one inch wider than the pie pan. Wah Lah! If the dough begins to stick on the pan or the surface, add more flour. Use the rolling pin to lift the dough onto the pie pan. Fold the edges under, then pinch with your thumb and forefinger to create a design; or simply use the tines of a fork.

Kamaka Brown's "Tales From The Hanabuddah Days"
Comic, writer, entertainer, performer Kamaka Brown brings his original Hawaiian Pidgin English story telling to Gardena, California. He's taken his kolohe, thoughtful, nostalgic stories of growing up in pre-statehood Hawai'i to audiences in Southern and Northern California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
Here is what just one reviewer said of the show:
“This is an offering from a sharp, professional comedian and talented story teller replete with a full cadre of supporting wits and players. This is a genuine musical presentation with a generous serving of funny stagecraft. What a delight they are. He and his musician friends weave a tuneful spell between stories of childhood thrills, vivid memories and unique adventures. All this from the perspective of soothing country life in sleepy Hawaii. Music is played. Philosophy is exchanged and native wisdom shared. And the music! If anyone in the audience does not like the soothing instrumental of a solo acoustic guitar they are "soul deprived" and seriously humor impaired.”
“Tales from da Hanabuddah Days” will be a very unique show. Kamaka brings to the stage a language spoken by contemporary people of Hawaii. Academically known as “Hawaiian Creole English” this language is a “toss salad” mix of the languages of the many ethnic groups that came to the islands to work in the fields. This “Pidgin English” (at first frowned upon by the “King’s English” purists) is now a recognized form of communication in Hawaii.
Kamaka is fluent in “Pidgin English” and brings to the Happa Restaurant original stories read in what some call “Hawaiian Ebonics.”
Recording artist T. Dan Hofsted accompanies Kamaka on Hawaiian Ki ho'alu slack key guitar and island contemporary musicians provide musical interludes.
Tickets now on sale at Happa Restaurant or call 626-221-3711 for tickets and information.
