ALOHA HAPPENS
By  Lika

Aloha is more then hello, goodbye, love you. Its way more then the tourist greeting, aaahhh looooooo haaaaa. Why do I not like hearing it like that? Because I’m not at a show in Waikiki? Aloha kiss kiss, pau. You know what I mean…… *L*

I think Aloha in its truest sense is unconditional love. That feeling that cannot be expressed in words, this word “Aloha” is a vague description of what cannot be described. It is only felt.

Much like the description of a baby’s laugh. The pure, innocent and joyfulness of that laugh is beyond words. There are no words that express that pure joy. You know what I mean…… *L*

Aloha is giving cause you want to, not cause you have to. Aloha does not include obligations. Aloha is not expecting anything in return. The joy is in the giving, not in da getting.

Aloha is the gift of unexpected warmth. The embrace of a soft wind at sunrise or the hug of the smell of the ocean at sundown.

Hoooo I’m feeling poetic dis morning. Inspired by da ulua o’wot? Oh I digress, where was I…

Aloha is the trust of friendship(s) and fellowship that knows little negativity and choke ukupila laughter. (WOT!)

There is no jealousy, no ultimatums, no mana sucking in true Aloha. *L* You know how some people just suck or demand a lot of your energy? Hence mana sucking. Sometimes individuals in our lives take (aka suck) time and energy that can be better spent in more positive endeavors.

Aloha is a prayer that one is pono within oneself; but more importantly that we are pono with one another.

Yes, Aloha happens and when it does cherish it……

Inspired by da ulua’s? ~ I love dat line ~ gawd I crack myself up.

Chocolate Haupia Pie
Review By: alohagirl
First tried this recipe 3 years ago while in the mainland and was so ono for Ted's bakery version, I had to do something! Super easy with great results but after making it over a dozen times, get tips for share!

Recipe easily makes 2 PIES! When making one, was always left with extra haupia (chocolate and coconut). So, for my pie-loving braddahs & sistahs, use same filling recipe but be careful of how much chocolate to haupia to cream and you will have two onolicious pies to share with your ohana! Mahalo to the author of such a yummy rendition of a local food experience!

Ono Crock Pot Rice Pudding
Review By: Kasey
This was so ono! I used sweet mochi rice and it turned out awesome. At first I thought that it would be a lot of vanilla but it's perfect. Thanks : )

Hawaiian Bread Pudding
Review By: Larry Kanekoa
I've been looking long and hard for a Bread Pudding that did not require a bath of water to be used. Made two batches and it was gone in one hour, the next day. Mahalo Plenty, my family and I enjoyed it very much.
