Halau Hula Kalehua`ulaouka

Hālau Hula Kalehua`ulaouka is a non-competitive school dedicated to the perpetuation and preservation of the Hawaiian culture through formal education. Emphasis is placed on studying all aspects of hula through Hawaiian dance, music, language, history, and the practice of values and traditions. Students are educated in oli (chant), hula kahiko (ancient/traditional hula), hula `auana (modern hula), `olelo (language), hana lei (lei making), and hana no`eau (arts &crafts). The mission of the school is to provide a positive learning environment that promotes cultural awareness while incorporating virtues such as humility, gratitude, temperance, and charity among the students and in the community.
